"Colorado's longest ski season has just got even longer, with Arapahoe Basin Ski Area extending their season yet again to May 17th. The ski area credits recent storms, their high elevation, and the season-long hard work of mountain ops for the season extension, all keeping the snowpack together just a bit longer."
"A-Basin officially became the latest open ski area in the state after the closure of Copper Mountain back on May 3rd. The ski area kicked off the season on October 27th, making their season the longest in Colorado. The mountain will be closed Monday-Thursday this week but will reopen Friday May 15th through Sunday May 17th."
"Both Black Mountain Express and the Lenawee Express will spin on regular hours, running from 9am to 4pm on Friday and 8:30am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. Uphill access is open all week long at any time, though it's only allowed outside of operating hours Friday-Sunday. Those hoping to access the mountain can claim $39 lift tickets until closing day or use their 25/26 A-Basin or Ikon Pass."
"Mostly mountain-blue, intermediate runs will be available in addition to 1 green, though it's important to note that there is no learner or beginner terrain open at this time. Live music will be hosted in the Base Area from 12:30-3:30pm on Saturday and Sunday, with performances from The Chris Bauer Band and The Frisco Funk Collective, and Arapahoe Sports will be hosting a 50% off end of season sale on select items."
Arapahoe Basin extended its ski season to May 17, making it Colorado’s longest ski season. The extension is attributed to recent storms, high elevation, and season-long efforts by mountain operations to preserve the snowpack. After Copper Mountain closed on May 3, A-Basin became the latest open ski area in Colorado. The mountain will be closed Monday through Thursday, then reopen Friday May 15 through Sunday May 17. Lift operations run 9am to 4pm on Friday and 8:30am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, while uphill access remains available all week but is only allowed outside operating hours on Friday through Sunday. Lift tickets are $39 until closing day, and passes can be used, including 25/26 A-Basin or Ikon Pass and 26/27 Ikon Pass or A-Basin season passes starting now. Mostly blue intermediate runs and one green run will be available, with no beginner terrain open. Live music runs 12:30pm to 3:30pm on Saturday and Sunday, and a 50% off end-of-season sale is planned at Arapahoe Sports.
