"Why did you think he was going to do it properly? Power, control - that's how they work. Yes, you have to sack managers, but do it with a little bit of class - they can't do it. And then the players are coming in afterwards (saying) 'oh well, that's football', all that carry on when lads are missing the target from 10, 15 yards out."
"We can't be surprised. Ange getting that job with the way that Nuno (Espirito) went out of that job - surely Ange must have been on his toes there."
"If I'm Ange, (I'm thinking, after Spurs) 'you know what, I'm going to have a little bit of a break, it's too quick' - especially going into such a chaotic owner's club."
Ange Postecoglou was sacked by Nottingham Forest after going winless in eight games and was dismissed 18 minutes after a 3-0 loss to Chelsea. Roy Keane attacked owner Evangelos Marinakis for repeatedly removing managers abruptly, accusing him of seeking power and control and lacking class in handling dismissals. Keane noted players later downplayed the situation while failing to convert scoring chances. Ian Wright said the outcome was unsurprising given previous exits and suggested Postecoglou might prefer a break rather than immediately enter another chaotic ownership environment. Postecoglou’s next move may be a return to a former club where he previously won two premierships.
