Report: Bayern Munich chooses to prioritize training over travel this winter
"Bayern Munich traditionally spends every summer traveling around the globe to grow and accommodate the club's international brand. In 2025, Bayern spent extensive time in the United States for the inaugural version of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup. It has also become common practice for the top European clubs to spend the winter holiday training period in a warmer climate to maximize fitness and satisfy a different set of fans and sponsors."
"According to Philipp Kessler (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern has already made a decision for the upcoming winter window. Just like last season, Bayern will not hold a winter training camp abroad this season. Due to the tight schedule in a World Cup year, the team will have the short preparation for the second half of the season in Munich in order to save the players the stress of travel and time/temperature difference."
Bayern Munich usually tours globally each summer to expand the club's international profile and in 2025 spent extensive time in the United States for the expanded FIFA Club World Cup. Top European clubs commonly use the winter break to train in warmer climates to boost fitness and serve fans and sponsors. Bayern will not hold a winter training camp abroad this season. The team will conduct a short second-half preparation in Munich to reduce travel stress and avoid time and temperature differences during a tight World Cup year schedule. The break between Heidenheim (December 20) and Wolfsburg (January 10) spans three weeks.
