The Witcher has been renewed for a fifth and final season and is currently in post-production. Netflix announced in April 2024 that seasons 4 and 5 would film back-to-back, with season 5 serving as the finale. Liam Hemsworth has taken over the role of Geralt of Rivia following Henry Cavill's departure, and season 4 is now streaming. No official premiere date for season 5 has been announced. Principal photography for season 5 wrapped weeks ago. The high-fantasy production requires extensive editing, sound mixing, and visual effects, which will extend the post-production timeline.
