Is 'The Witcher' Coming Back for Season 5?
"It is with huge pride that we begin shooting our penultimate season of The Witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia,"
"We're thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski's books to an epic and satisfying conclusion."
"The good news is I won't say goodbye to it quite yet, because I'm in post[-production] for a very long time for season 5," Hissrich said to GamesRadar+."
The Witcher has been renewed for a fifth and final season and is currently in post-production. Netflix announced in April 2024 that seasons 4 and 5 would film back-to-back, with season 5 serving as the finale. Liam Hemsworth has taken over the role of Geralt of Rivia following Henry Cavill's departure, and season 4 is now streaming. No official premiere date for season 5 has been announced. Principal photography for season 5 wrapped weeks ago. The high-fantasy production requires extensive editing, sound mixing, and visual effects, which will extend the post-production timeline.
