The Pitt Is Scrubbing Up for a Residency on TNT
"Having already conquered streaming and won the hearts of TV critics and Emmy voters, The Pitt is looking to make one more splash before 2025 comes to an end. Starting December 1, the HBO Max medical drama will begin a five-week residency on TNT, with the cable network airing three episodes - completely unedited - every Monday at 9 p.m., Vulture has learned."
"The timing of the cable play should also help make it clear that The Pitt is simply making a, er, pit stop on TNT: Its linear telecasts will come weeks before the show's second season launches on Max early in January, allowing TNT to include a ton of promos hyping its streaming return - and reminding viewers of the show's permanent home."
The Pitt, an HBO Max medical drama, will run on TNT beginning December 1 with a five-week residency. TNT will air three completely unedited episodes each Monday at 9 p.m., staging five mini binge drops rather than following the show's Thursday streaming cadence. The broadcasts will occur weeks before the second season launches on Max in early January, allowing TNT to promote the show's streaming return while emphasizing Max as the permanent home. HBO and Max Content chairman Casey Bloys signaled caution to avoid implying Max shows have moved platforms and said periodic linear plays are acceptable for marketing if not overused.
