"Human remains found in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont., over the summer belong to a 24-year-old missing Black man from Toronto, police confirmed on Tuesday. The death is being investigated as a homicide, Niagara Regional Police said in a news release. Police say the man was reported missing and was last seen in May 2022. His remains were found in August 2025."

"In an earlier news release, police said a human skull was discovered in an area near Read Road and the shore of Lake Ontario on Aug. 31, 2025. A few days later, on Sept. 3, police said they recovered full skeletal remains from the area. According to the release, police worked with the coroner's office and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service to identify the man."
Human remains found in Niagara-on-the-Lake over the summer were identified as a 24-year-old missing Black man from Toronto. The remains were discovered beginning with a skull near Read Road and Lake Ontario on Aug. 31, 2025, and full skeletal remains were recovered on Sept. 3. The man had been reported missing and was last seen in May 2022. Detectives with the Niagara Regional Police homicide unit confirmed the identity with assistance from the coroner's office and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. The death is under investigation as a homicide. Family requested that the man's name not be released. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
