A fire in Castleview Park, Edenderry, on December 6 claimed the lives of four-year-old Tadgh Farrell and his great-aunt Mary Holt. Tadgh's grandmother suffered serious burn injuries. Gardaí arrested three men in connection with the incident. CCTV footage showed two hooded individuals breaking a window and igniting an object before throwing it inside. The community held vigils and services to honor the victims. Mary Holt was buried on December 14, and Tadgh was laid to rest on December 12, following a funeral mass.
