Addison Barger launched the first pinch-hit grand slam in World Series history as the Toronto Blue Jays routed the Los Angeles Dodgers 11-4 in Game 1. Toronto produced a nine-run sixth inning that included Alejandro Kirk's two-run homer and Ernie Clement's tiebreaking single. Daulton Varsho started the comeback with a two-run drive in the fourth off Blake Snell. Shohei Ohtani hit a two-run homer in the seventh for Los Angeles. Fans chanted at Ohtani in the ninth. The Fall Classic returned to Toronto for the first time since 1993. Game 2 is scheduled at Rogers Centre Saturday.
