Miss USA says it finally paid Miss Teen USA 2024 her $10,000 prize, a year after it was promised by the previous owner
"The Miss USA Organization appears to be rectifying some of the wrongs left by previous ownership. The latest example is that the pageant recently paid Miss Teen USA 2024's promised scholarship money, a year after she was supposed to receive it. Addie Carver, the pageant queen who won in August 2024, hadn't publicly shared much about what happened behind the scenes at Miss USA amid its ongoing leadership turmoil."
"Carver told Business Insider she "wasn't sure of the details" of the ongoing lawsuit before adding that "this new leadership has taken care of me a lot - way more than I've had in the past year." "In the past few months that they've been with me, they've really amplified my experience," she said. "It really did make my year 10 times better.""
Addie Carver won Miss Teen USA in August 2024 and was promised a $10,000 scholarship. A lawsuit from JKN Universe alleges former Miss USA CEO Laylah Rose and her company VVV Global Ent. failed to distribute prizes to winners, including Carver; VVV denies the allegations in a countersuit. The Miss USA Organization, now owned by Thom Brodeur, reported that it paid Carver the $10,000 scholarship in September 2025 and provided screenshots of Venmo and Zelle payments to Carver and her mother. Carver said new leadership has significantly improved her experience during the past months.
