Undaunted by past, Elko, 8-0 Aggies thump LSU
"They tried to put a quote up there that I said that Death Valley was underwhelming,"
"And shoot, I guess it was. They didn't do much to me."
"I said, 'You're the better team, but you have to play better football, and if you don't play better football, you're gonna let one slip away tonight,'"
"Elko definitely said some things. I can't really remember every detail. It was aggressive, though, for sure."
Texas A&M reached 8-0 for the first time since 1992 after its first win at LSU as an SEC member. The Aggies scored 40 or more points in four consecutive road games for the first time in team history, tying the SEC record, and posted the most points against a ranked LSU at Tiger Stadium since 2008. LSU led 18-14 at halftime after a blocked punt for a safety and two interceptions produced an 11-0 second-quarter swing, despite A&M outgaining LSU 258-189 in the half. Texas A&M dominated the third quarter, outscoring LSU 21-0 and outgaining 132-14, highlighted by KC Concepcion's 79-yard punt return touchdown. A&M punted once in the second half and forced four straight LSU punts. Strength and conditioning coach Tommy Moffitt received credit for the strong finish.
