An attempted home invasion in Union City was prevented after a girl noticed several armed suspects outside her residence and alerted family members. Family members called 911 around 7:45 a.m. on Friday in the 30900 block of Tidewater Drive, which caused the suspects to flee. Police describe the group as four males wearing masks and hoodies, with at least two armed with pistols. The suspects were seen driving away in a white Ford Taurus. The incident does not appear related to an earlier attempted kidnapping of an 11-year-old. Anyone with information can contact Union City police Det. Michael Bedford at 510-675-5266 or michaelb@unioncity.org.
