Zohran Mamdani prevailed over Andrew Cuomo in the June Democratic primary overall and won majorities in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens while Cuomo carried the Bronx and Staten Island. Polls show Mamdani ahead by double digits entering the general election, and voters expressed both frustration with major parties and enthusiasm for Mamdani, with some voters switching party affiliation.
