I'm Sorry, I'm Trying Not to Vomit on the Air': Van Jones Can't Take Any More Trump Praise on CNN
"Steve Bannon mysteriously talks about, We've got this plan.' I don't know what kind of plan you could have, Urban said before noting that amending the Constitution is the only way Trump could serve again. [I]t seems pretty clear. Urban then pointed to remarks from Trump earlier in the day, in which the president said Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marc Rubio would be great Republican presidential nominees. And listen, let no one be fooled to think that Donald Trump is going anywhere, Urban continued. He may not be president, but he's gonna be sitting at Bedminster or in Palm Beach. Can you imagine if you are President JD Vance, and every day you wake up to a slew of Truth Social posts and tweets about Donald Trump and reviewing your performance from the night before? Trump will remain large on the stage in American politics and global politics until he does not remain anymore. I mean, the guy is the Colossus at Rhodes and will remain that way."
"Van, how seriously do you take these comments? Cooper asked. I'm sorry, I'm trying not to vomit on the air listening to this from Urban, Jones replied, prompting Urban to crack up. Are you envisioning the Colossus of Rhodes? Cooper asked. Just the whole thing, man, Jones responded."
The 22nd Amendment prohibits a third presidential term and requires approval by two-thirds of both congressional houses and three-fourths of the states to amend. Steven Bannon claimed there is a plan to re-elect Donald Trump in 2028, while David Urban dismissed that prospect as not serious and emphasized that a constitutional amendment would be necessary. Urban noted Trump’s remarks praising JD Vance and Marc Rubio and predicted Trump would remain influential from Bedminster or Palm Beach, using Truth Social to shape perceptions of future Republican officeholders. Van Jones reacted with visible disgust and expressed concern about apparent disrespect for the Constitution.
