Looking ahead, they want to bring the hope and lessons from field organizing back to Los Angeles. New York and Los Angeles have very different geographies and spreads of power. In Los Angeles, city council members' elections tend to have more weight compared to a mayoral race."

Many participants belong to the 4,000-strong young membership of Democratic Socialists of America Los Angeles. Activists report renewed energy and motivation to help voters despite previous strike momentum dissipating. Organizers intend to apply field organizing lessons in Los Angeles, where city council and school board races carry significant local influence. DSA-LA has endorsed five local candidates to support.
