The Lincoln Center West Initiative will update Damrosch Park and reimagine the western side of the performing arts campus into a larger outdoor space for show lovers. The project includes redeveloping about 2.4 acres of parkland and replacing the existing Guggenheim Bandshell with a permanent outdoor performance venue called The Baron Theater. The open-air theater will accommodate up to 2,000 people by removing the existing wall along Amsterdam Avenue, creating new entry points, gardens, and seating areas. The makeover will expand green spaces and add year-round community amenities.
