Ryan Seacrest announced the peaceful passing of his father, Gary Lee Seacrest, at age 79. He said he, his mother and sister have peace knowing Gary is free of pain while the family remains heartbroken. Gary battled cancer for several years, with prostate cancer later spreading after a period when it was no longer detectable. Seacrest shared that his mother is in remission. Gary served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army and later worked as a lawyer. The couple raised their family in Atlanta and were married 56 years; they have a daughter, Meredith.
