President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged Donald Trump to press China to end its support for Russia during his Asia meetings with Xi Jinping. Zelenskyy said he is ready to hold peace talks anywhere except Russia and Belarus but insisted Ukraine will not cede territory or retreat from current positions. Zelenskyy welcomed Trump's public backing for an immediate ceasefire on current lines. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Moscow hopes Trump remains committed to resolving the crisis and to principles from the Anchorage summit, where Russia framed ending the war as requiring Ukraine's disarmament and territorial concessions. Fighting continues, with Russian advances reported around Pokrovsk.
