"Ralph Vincent DeSerio III was born from humble beginnings in Rahway, New Jersey, on Sept. 11, 1946. A date that went down in infamy for other reasons, he lived an extraordinary life. Known as simply Vinnie by many for almost 80 years of life, he spent it steeped in adventure, literature, family, fine food, and rigorous spiritual practice. There will never be another Ralph Vincent DeSerio III."
"Vinnie believed that there are no bad teachers, only bad students. By second grade, he overcame dyslexia and learned to read. Into his final days he continued to be an avid reader and writer. As a 13-year-old, Vinnie met his lifelong best friend and collaborator, Barry Gifford, and they hit it off. They wrote their own scripts and essays, inspired one another, and shared their favorite works of literature until Vinnie's passing."
