1,600 new homes to be built next to West Silvertown DLR station

"Ballymore has secured planning permission for just over 1,600 new homes for a wedge-shaped development near West Silvertown DLR station. The light industrial site runs in a narrow wedge to the Thames and sits alongside Lyle Park, which will receive a £1 million improvement funded by the developer. That will see the park significantly revamped and made more accessible to the two housing developments on either side."

"In addition to the 1,667 homes, more than 11,000 sqm of light industrial and flexible workspace is also provided. The development includes 153 affordable residential units (10.7% by habitable room) but has offered to increase this to 20% if grant funding is secured. The site is named Knights Road after John Knight Soap Works (later known as The Royal Primrose Soap Works)."
