Europe faces a significant shortage of bus drivers while managing fleet electrification and operational challenges at bus depots.
The Volvo FH Aero Electric with Extended Range is powered by a newly designed electric rear axle that integrates two electric motors, all the necessary power electronics, a six-speed transmission, and a 13-tonne traditional axle.
All truckers and pass drivers will have to take their commercial driver's license tests in English as the Trump administration expands its aggressive campaign to improve safety in the industry and get unqualified drivers off the road. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced the latest effort Friday to ensure that drivers understand English well enough to read road signs and communicate with law enforcement officers. Florida already started administering its tests in English.
A semitruck became "fully engulfed" in flames near the Third Street off-ramp, Mark Andrews, a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol, told SFGATE. According to the CHP incident log, the fire was first reported at 10:46 a.m. Crews on the scene reported difficulties putting the fire out and needed to remove "scrap metal" in order to put out the fire.
At about 18 kilograms, roughly 40 pounds with its battery included, the As2 is compact enough to move through tight spaces, yet built to handle a standing payload of up to 65 kilograms. The sudden closure derailed his career plans. A trucking job was a path forward, he said, a way to earn a better living than his current rotation of gig jobs, such as putting up blinds and detailing cars. Climbing onto the Honda Fastport eQuad is, quite literally, just like getting on a bicycle, except easier. With four wheels and broad diamond-plate running boards on either side, ingress and egress is as simple as swinging my leg over and stepping on and off the pedals, no kickstands involved. This makes sense, as the e-bike-based mini box-truck has been custom designed and constructed by the Japanese transportation company for the constant stop-and-go of urban e-commerce package delivery.
According to the company, the compressor integrates an ultra-high-speed electric motor exceeding 160,000 rpm combined with an oil-free foil bearing system. The architecture is designed to deliver reduced package size, lower weight and lower noise levels compared with conventional scroll compressors. Garrett states that the system is up to 50% smaller, 30% lighter and 10 dB quieter than traditional scroll-based solutions. The compressor is engineered for compatibility with 400V to 800V heat pump systems and supports low-pressure, low-GWP refrigerants.
Diesel remains the backbone for moving massive loads across long distances. It provides the torque needed for heavy hauling that other fuel types just cannot match. Investment in diesel tech leads to better fuel systems and longer lifespans for newer models.
