Republicans were there to ask the former first family about Bill Clinton's relationship with Epstein, including his four trips on Epstein's private jet in the early 2000s prior to his conviction for soliciting a minor, as well as photos of Bill Clinton in the Epstein files. Bill Clinton's testimony scheduled for Friday would be the first time a former president has been compelled by subpoena to testify against his will in a Congressional investigation.
While he says they are "cooperating" with trying to find a date, he says that the former first couple is weighing other options in how to respond to the investigation. Mr. Comer and Speaker Mike Johnson have been pushing back against a bipartisan bill to force a disclosure of all of the so-called "Epstein files" by claiming that an Oversight Committee probe is a more appropriate avenue for investigating the matter.
