A Florida man waived extradition after being charged with the 1997 murder of Tanya "Peaches" Jackson and the death of her daughter, Tatiana.
Ms Hewer, 52, a devout Christian, was sexually assaulted and stabbed six times at her flat in Parkstone Road, Walthamstow, on October 17, 1995. There was no sign of a break-in to the sixth-floor property, suggesting she knew her attacker. Firefighters broke into the premises and found her body in a bedroom after two blazes were deliberately started in that room and another in the lounge.
The recent death of Robert Redford brought renewed interest to an unresolved search for a murder suspect the one accused of killing the boyfriend of the acclaimed actor's daughter in Colorado decades earlier. As local outlets recounted in the aftermath of Redford's death, his daughter Shauna was attending the University of Colorado Boulder when her boyfriend and fellow student, Sid Wells, was fatally shot in his apartment.
