Black Mountain in New Hampshire is offering free skiing on Mother’s Day for all moms and their children.
This season, Saint-Colomban-des-Villards is only operating a mini ski-area aimed at beginners and families. It will be free of charge to ski there. The decision to make skiing free for all visitors isn't one that the resort took lightly; however, with an operation deficit of €1 million this past year, the municipality simply cannot afford to support this kind of loss.
A generous donation by the Jack and Dorothy Byrne foundation has made skiing for free possible at Storrs Hill possible over last season and this season. The foundation aims to support non-profit organizations in the Upper Valley area of New Hampshire. In addition to the donation, land grants by the Tomapo Farm and the City of Lebanon also helped Storrs Hill to bring its second season of free skiing stoke.
