CLD was pressing the action early, forcing Tulio to tie things up. Tulio would fire knees to the thigh of Duncan, but CLD had underhooks and was able to reverse. Late in the round, Tulio would get Duncan down, but CLD scrambled up and landed a takedown of his own, getting into side control, then mount, then taking the back and finishing the round strong with both hooks in.
The second and final women's fight on the UFC Vegas 111 card opened with a feeling out process, one that saw Cavalcanti holding center. Bueno Silva didn't seem to have much output, but she did dazzle with a pair of kicks chained together, one to the body, then a spinning kick up high. Plenty of back-and-forth from there, with more activity on Cavalcanti's part.
