An eight-year-old boy from Wexford waited over an hour and a half for emergency services after suffering a serious injury in his home.
The National Ambulance Service and Gardaí rushed to the busy road, which links Taghmon with the notorious Larkin's Cross, but sadly their efforts were to prove in vain as the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner has been notified. The road was sealed off to traffic pending a full technical examination of the scene by garda forensic collision investigators. It is expected to remain closed for some time and local diversions are in place.
