This past week, the Atlanta Braves achieved four wins in six games, which would typically signify a good performance. However, losing two of three games to the struggling Miami Marlins overshadowed their success against the New York Mets. Pitcher Chris Sale suffered a rib injury while nearly completing a game, ending a promising return from earlier difficulties. Meanwhile, Ronald Acuña Jr. had a strong week, posting an impressive batting average and on-base performance, solidifying his status among the league's best when healthy.
On the mound, Chris Sale came within one out of a complete game earlier this week, but his diving attempt to field a grounder led to him breaking a rib which is incredibly bad luck for him and the team.
Despite making only one start during the week, Sale's performance was outstanding enough that it would have won this week's Player of the Week award if it weren't for doings of last week's weekly award winner.
