Colson Montgomery made a notable return to Triple-A Charlotte, hitting two singles, including an RBI, after a two-week training period at the White Sox's facility in Arizona. He focused on improving his swing with hitting director Ryan Fuller, aiming to reset mentally and physically following a lackluster start to the season. Assistant GM Josh Barfield highlighted Montgomery's dedication and gradual improvement, suggesting he is now in a better position as a player. Montgomery, a first-round pick in 2021, previously struggled with a .149 batting average in 23 games.
He did a good job with using the time well. Not getting off to the start that he wanted to, part of it was being able to hit the reset button.
By the time he left (Arizona), he felt like he was in a much better spot than when he had left (Charlotte). And today he had two hits.
