Kavone Horton, 28, was charged with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon following a shooting that killed Abdul Saleh, also 28. Horton was injured by a ricocheted bullet and remains in Bellevue Hospital. Saleh, a deli worker, was remembered fondly by customers as a family member and a joyful presence in their lives. A vigil was held outside the deli, where residents mourned his loss and expressed their frustration with ongoing violence in the community.
