The town of Dennis is reinforcing its safety protocols at local beaches for the Fourth of July following a spike in unsafe behaviors from 2019 to 2023. New restrictions, including banning daily parking passes and enforcing a zero tolerance policy on alcohol and drugs, were successful last year, leading to a significant drop in emergency calls and arrests. The same measures will now extend to West Dennis Beach to promote a family-friendly atmosphere during the holiday.
