On Sept. 17 at 8:44 p.m., officers from the 70th Precinct responded to a 911 call about an assault outside 85 Crooke Ave in Brooklyn. Emergency responders found 24-year-old Ramel Ingram with a gunshot wound to the chest and transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where he died from his injuries. A person of interest was taken into custody at the scene, and charges have not been announced. Neighbors observed heavy police activity and described the incident as uncommon for the area. The investigation remains ongoing.
