Exclusive | Peter Dinklage rescues legendary columnist from icy stoop
"I saw him from the back. I said 'Sir, Sir, please can you help me, I can't get down the stairs.' She said that she explained that she was injured. Dinklage then leapt into action like a frost responder. He ran up the stairs, which were icy and he said 'Lean on me.'"
"It was very wet and icy, plus those stone stairs they have on those brownstones that are 70 feet high. He couldn't have been nicer or cuter. I told him he was a saint... I loved it. I fell madly in love with him."
Peter Dinklage, star of Game of Thrones, assisted 78-year-old Linda Stassi, a former New York Post columnist, down treacherous icy steps in Brooklyn. Stassi had injured her knee days earlier and was unable to navigate the slippery stone stairs on her own. When she called out to a passing stranger for help, Dinklage responded immediately, running up the icy steps and guiding her safely down. Stassi expressed gratitude and admiration for his kindness and courtesy. Dinklage recently performed in Twelfth Night at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. The incident occurred during winter weather that brought significant snowfall to New York City.
