At approximately 4:49 p.m., police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting near West 36th Street and Surf Avenue, within the 60th Precinct.
The area near Surf Avenue and West 36th Street, popular with visitors heading to Coney Island attractions, was cordoned off for several hours as crime scene investigators processed evidence.
