"Gunfire was reported at 12:26 a.m. in the 200 block of Chynoweth Avenue, between Snell and Edenvale avenues, according to the San Jose Police Department. At least one 911 caller described a woman screaming for help. Police said responding officers found the woman outside a home suffering from at least one gunshot wound. When the officers went inside the home, they found a second woman and a man also both suffering from gunshot injuries. The woman inside the home died at the scene, police said."
"Police said an unidentified suspect "fled the scene prior to police arrival," and that the SJPD homicide unit was summoned to investigate the killings, which marked the 19th, 20th and 21st homicides of the year in San Jose.
