Hyundai's Hybrids Are On A Tear: Q2 Sales
Briefly

Hyundai and Kia achieved record first-half sales in the U.S., selling nearly half a million vehicles. Hyundai's sales reached 439,280 units, an increase of 10% year-over-year, led by the Tucson and Elantra. Kia's sales totaled 416,511, an 8% rise, with contributions from the Telluride and K4. Hybrid sales, particularly of the Tucson and Santa Fe hybrids, set records, contributing to a 20% increase in total electrified sales. However, fully electric vehicle sales showed slight declines, with the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 experiencing decreases in units sold compared to the previous year.
Hyundai's hybrids seem to have turbocharged these numbers, even though its best-selling models are still the gas-powered Tucson, Santa Fe and Elantra.
It remains unclear exactly how many hybrids Hyundai and Kia sold, as the automakers group them with the gas-only counterparts.
