TRADE ALERT: Garrett Bradbury is Heading to the Bears in Deal With Pats
"Garrett Bradbury is a 30-year-old center with ample NFL experience. A first-round pick (18th overall) by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2019 NFL Draft, Bradbury has 105 starts under his belt. After spending the first six years of his career with the Vikings, Bradbury joined the Patriots last offseason on a two-year deal worth up to $12 million that included $3.8 million guaranteed."
"The North Carolina State product was Pro Football Focus' 30th-highest-graded center among the 40 who played enough snaps to qualify for the leaderboard. Bradbury's pass-blocking grade came in at 63.1, which is just below average by PFF's standards. Meanwhile, his 56.2 run-blocking grade ranked among the worst of the qualifiers."
"At a minimum, Garrett Bradbury's arrival provides depth at a position where the Bears didn't have anyone on the depth chart. I suppose that could count for something. Perhaps he will take the place of outgoing free-agent Ryan Bates, who Chicago acquired in a trade to be a depth guy."
The Chicago Bears traded a 2027 fifth-round pick to the New England Patriots to acquire 30-year-old center Garrett Bradbury. A first-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 2019, Bradbury brings 105 career starts and six seasons of NFL experience. He signed with New England last offseason on a two-year deal worth up to $12 million with $3.8 million guaranteed. According to Pro Football Focus, Bradbury ranked 30th among 40 qualifying centers, with a pass-blocking grade of 63.1 and a run-blocking grade of 56.2, both below average. The acquisition provides depth at center following Drew Dalman's unexpected retirement and may replace outgoing free agent Ryan Bates.
