The Hershey Bears secured a commanding 3-0 victory over the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in their opening game of the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs. Playing in front of 8,050 fans at the Giant Center, the Bears took control early with Chase Priskie scoring the first goal. Despite facing a significant power play threat from the Phantoms, the Bears' penalty kill excelled. Spencer Smallman’s insurance goal and an empty-netter from Bodan Trineyev solidified their victory. Hunter Shepard achieved a playoff shutout, underscoring a potent team performance after a bye in the initial round.
Shep was great tonight.
We have to improve on that. But all in all, it was a pretty good hockey game.
