Heys Café, designed by BREND, is a unique coffee shop in Nakanoshima that emphasizes the concept of 'no barriers' by integrating various materials and functions within a compact area. The design features operable steel sashes on the street-facing facade to enhance ventilation and interior-exterior interaction. Mino ware tiles and pastel colors unify the aesthetic, while stackable furniture allows for adaptable use of the space beyond regular business hours. The café serves as a model for maximizing usability while maintaining simplicity, effectively merging indoors with its outdoor environment.
Located in Nakanoshima, Heys Café merges material continuity with flexible spatial use, embodying BREND's vision of 'no barriers' while enhancing interaction with the outdoors.
