Upon ordering a Quest 2 headset during the pandemic, the anticipation of a new VR experience quickly shifted to discomfort. Setting up the device required clearing space, and even during this process, unease was felt. Engaging with a VR demo led to feelings of overwhelming solitude and confusion. However, this experience rapidly turned sour as the user became nauseated and dizzy within twenty minutes, ultimately leading to an overwhelming need to remove the headset and lie down, reflecting on the unexpected nature of the immersion.
The initial experience with the Quest 2 headset was marked by a sense of profound solitude, as the user felt dropped into a silent desert-like environment.
Despite the anticipation of a virtual reality experience, the onset of discomfort quickly followed as the user experienced nausea and dizziness during the session.
