"From the Boston Herald: The call comes as some districts across the Bay State have suspended teachers for making social media posts that appear to celebrate Kirk's death, including one educator who allegedly commented, just a reminder, we're NOT offering sympathy. MTA President Max Page and Vice President Deb McCarthy are urging districts and public colleges and universities to be partners with unions in the fight to defend educators from bullying and harassment."
"Peabody Superintendent Josh Vadala confirmed on Monday that two teachers at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School have been on leave since last Friday for social media posts that allegedly violated district policies and procedures. Peabody joins at least Framingham, Sharon and Wachusett Regional, which includes the towns of Holden, Paxton, Princeton, Rutland and Sterling, in taking action against teachers who have reacted positively and celebratory on social media towards Kirk's death."
Massachusetts Teachers Association has declined to join calls supporting educators who posted celebratory social-media reactions to Kirk's death. MTA President Max Page and Vice President Deb McCarthy urged districts and public colleges to partner with unions to defend educators from bullying and harassment and to protect their rights. Multiple school districts have suspended teachers for posts that appeared to celebrate Kirk's death. Peabody Superintendent Josh Vadala confirmed two Peabody Veterans Memorial High School teachers have been on leave since last Friday for allegedly violating district policies. Framingham, Sharon and Wachusett Regional also took action against teachers who reacted positively on social media.
