"The system as a whole is still playing out; it's just shifted a little further east,"
"So most of the activity that we were expected to get in the Bay Area is now going to be up in the Sierra, more in the Central Valley."
"The tropical moisture definitely made it here, and we're really feeling it with the humidity outside,"
A weather system shifted east, directing the bulk of dry lightning and thunderstorm activity to the Sierra and Central Valley rather than the Bay Area. Lingering showers or thunderstorms are possible through Friday morning but should give way to a mostly sunny weekend. Coastal temperatures will remain mild, with inland areas heating into the upper 80s and low 90s. Evening lows will stay in the low 60s with patchy morning fog possible Saturday. Tropical moisture increased regional humidity. No elevated wildfire risk is expected for Bay Area counties into the weekend, and onshore flow will return with typical breezy afternoon winds.
