On a two-week trip through Europe, I chose the cheapest overnight train option with OBB Nightjet, costing $40 from Berlin to Vienna. Unfortunately, the seating carriage, which lacked privacy and comfort, led to a sleepless 12-hour journey. Having previously traveled extensively by train, I found the cabin too cramped, especially as more passengers arrived. Despite the slight recline of the seats, it was not enough to facilitate rest, leaving me utterly exhausted and regretting my choice to opt for the lowest-cost accommodation.
After a long day of exploring, I boarded the OBB Nightjet from Berlin to Vienna, seeking a weary respite but found myself faced with utter discomfort.
Though the seating had some advantageous features, such as reclining, the overall cramped conditions left me exhausted, desperate for sleep in a crowded cabin.
