The 23-year-old defender's contract with the club stood to expire at the end of the ongoing season, and as such, they have let him leave without a transfer fee, but retained a percentage of any future sale from the MLS outfit."

During his time with the Catalans, the Senegalese defender represented Barça Atletic, featuring 59 times for the reserve team. While he was on the radars of Hansi Flick and even trained with the senior setup on a few occasions, he never made his first-team debut."

The 23-year-old defender's Barcelona contract runs until the end of the season, allowing him to leave without a transfer fee while Barcelona retains a percentage of any future sale. Mbacke arrived at Barcelona in summer 2023 on loan from Los Angeles FC and was signed permanently a year later. He made 59 appearances for Barça Atlètic across two-and-a-half seasons. He trained with the senior squad on occasion and was on Hansi Flick's radar but did not make a first-team debut.
