An alien soundwave hijacks Mika's body, leading her to experience human sensations. The narrative follows her quirky escapades, including a frustrating relationship with boyfriend Shannon. Tensions rise as Mika, now interfaced with Sound, expresses outrage about human behavior and climate change. Their journey shifts to a far-off music festival where they attempt to reconnect with Mika. The absurdity and loose structure of the film create a commentary on intimacy and self-identity amidst an otherworldly premise, highlighting Shannon's insecurities about Mika's transformation.
The alien conceit starts to make more sense in terms of a strangeness in his partner he feels threatened by, and the new identity she is seeking.
The film's final phase sees Sound, Shannon, and Deyo head to a music festival to make a radio transmission that they hope will bring Mika back.
