The iconic 80s cop show Miami Vice is returning to the big screen with Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski at the helm. The screenplay, created by Oscar-nominated writer Dan Gilroy, promises a fresh take on the original series, which aired from 1984 to 1990. The last film adaptation in 2006, featuring Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx, was initially criticized but later gained a cult following. As Kosinski gears up for this new project, he continues to expand his impressive resume with notable films and upcoming projects.
As screenwriter, he is also known for The Bourne Legacy and Kong: Skull Island.
The original show ran from 1984 to 1990 and starred Don Johnson and Philip M Thomas as leads.
