Dodgers encouraged with Clayton Kershaw's progression in rehab
Briefly

The Los Angeles Dodgers are preparing to activate Tony Gonsolin from the injured list for his season debut. Meanwhile, Clayton Kershaw is also making progress in his recovery after offseason surgeries, having begun a rehab assignment. Kershaw's manager stated that Kershaw has successfully increased his pitch count during his rehab outings and is on track to rejoin the main roster soon. The team is optimistic about Kershaw's return, which could happen shortly after May 17.
"He is going to throw Tuesday. It'll be five innings, five and 75 (pitches), something like that," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. "And as I understand it, if it goes well, he'll probably go shorter on regular (rest) on Sunday and then we'll see from there. He's in a good spot."
"Kershaw was generally pleased with the start of his rehab assignment and doubled his pitch count in the outing for the Drillers. That saw Kershaw throw 60 pitches as he completed three innings."
