Dodgers Injury Update: Blake Snell Throws Bullpen Session Amid Lingering Shoulder Pain
Briefly

Blake Snell of the Los Angeles Dodgers has been on the injured list since early April due to left shoulder inflammation. Initially anticipated to miss only two starts, he is now facing a longer recovery. Despite positive progress in his rehab, Snell experiences discomfort, particularly in the mornings. He has actively participated in catching exercises and bullpen sessions, but exact timelines for facing batters remain uncertain. The MRI indicated no structural damage, suggesting a management approach focused on rest rather than surgery.
Snell said he felt good during the bullpen session and all of his throwing sessions. But "the pain lingers here and there," usually when he first gets up in the morning.
The left-hander had been dealing with the shoulder inflammation since the start of the season and attempted to pitch through it, which contributed to walking eight hitters and striking out just four across his nine innings.
Snell traveled with the team to Texas rather than staying back in L.A., which allowed him to continue working with team trainers watching and staying in close communication with him.
After the results were further evaluated, Snell was recommended rest, rather than any procedure.
