Liverpool had the opportunity to extend their Premier League lead to 14 points against Fulham but fell short in a stunning 3-2 defeat at Craven Cottage. Liverpool initially took the lead with a goal from Alexis MacAllister but struggled defensively, allowing Fulham to score three quick goals. Luis Diaz managed to bring Liverpool back within one goal, but they could not equalize. Despite the loss, Liverpool still holds a substantial 11-point lead over Arsenal but faces a precarious path to the title amid their recent performances.
Fulham's reply in punishing a haphazard Liverpool defence was magnificent, Ryan Sessegnon's smart finish followed by a deflected Alex Iwobi effort and a sublime individual goal from Rodrigo Muniz.
Luis Diaz pulled one back for Liverpool with 18 minutes remaining, yet Arne Slot's side could not find the equaliser as Fulham held on for a deserved win that boosts their hopes of European football.
Liverpool's advantage over Arsenal is still a very impressive 11 points that will almost certainly be too much to overcome, but what they hoped would be triumphant is right now more akin to a stumble.
The hosts were unfortunate not to be awarded a penalty early on following some sloppy play from Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate.
