The Bloom Hub, located in East London's Stratford, is a dedicated safe space for females aged 13 to 25, run by the charity Advance. This hub offers an array of support services including counselling, clothing, and a safe environment for socializing and studying. With a focus on supporting those affected by violence and domestic abuse, the hub aims to cater to girls who are often excluded from mixed-gender spaces. Staffed entirely by women, it addresses various needs, from emotional support to practical assistance like tutoring and childcare, fostering a sense of community and safety among its visitors.
Director of services Dali Kaur believes the hub, which is looking to hire school tutors and childcare providers, help girls who are not allowed in the same spaces as boys.
Billie, a 22-year-old visitor, shared her story of growing up amidst domestic violence, noting, 'You don’t realize how much it affects you until you’re older.'
