An Alabama attorney has been accused of trying to poison her husband with a substance she believed to be fentanyl. Sara Baker, 74, of Vinemont, Alabama, is accused of putting the substance in her husband's food or drink on three separate occasions in September, report the Cullman Tribune, Law & Crime, ABC 33/40, WAFF 48 and WVTM 13.

A Massachusetts State Police trooper arrested last week is facing charges related to a domestic assault on a child, local police said. State Trooper Michael Gagnon, of Plympton, was arrested Nov. 25 and was arraigned on charges of domestic assault and battery and aggravated assault on a child under 14 years of age, according to Plympton police. In a statement, a spokesperson for the State Police said Gagnon was relieved of duty and suspended without pay.

An NYPD school crossing guard was arrested in Queens over the weekend for throttling his girlfriend. According to police sources, 20-year-old Bryan Merchan was charged in the confines of the 104th Precinct at around 5:55 p.m. on Nov. 30 with criminal obstruction of breathing and assault. While police did not provide further details, a source with knowledge of the investigation reported that Merchan got into a domestic dispute with his 20-year-old girlfriend inside their Glendale home.
Deputies were initially dispatched to a home in the 900 block of Etheldore Street around 12:30 a.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. The suspect, a 32-year-old man, was gone by the time they arrived. The victim suffered minor injuries but declined medical treatment, authorities said.

CARBONDALE, Kan. -- Four law enforcement officers were shot Saturday morning while responding to a residence in a rural area south of Topeka, Kansas. The shooting was around 10:30 a.m. Three Osage County sheriff's deputies and one Kansas Highway Patrol trooper were shot, Kansas Bureau of Investigation spokesperson Melissa Underwood said. Their conditions are "still very fluid," Underwood said. A male suspect died from gunshot wounds, leaders from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and state Highway Patrol said. One other male was injured and taken to a hospital and is in stable condition, officials said.
