Status of Chargers RB Harris for Week 1 unclear
Briefly

Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh gave an ambiguous update about running back Najee Harris' condition for the upcoming season opener against the Chiefs. Harris sustained an injury during a July 4th fireworks incident and is currently on the Non-Football Injury/illness list. His agent indicated the injury is superficial and expected Harris to be ready for the regular season. Despite Harris walking laps during practice, Harbaugh avoids commenting on specific injury details, stating he can confirm that Harris is capable of opening his eye following the incident.
When asked Friday if there's a chance Harris isn't ready for the Chargers' season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs in Brazil, Harbaugh said: "There's a chance he is."
Harris was injured in a July 4th fireworks mishap that landed him on the Non-Football Injury/illness list ahead of training camp. Harris' agent, Doug Hendrickson, said that Harris' injury was "superficial" and that he expected him to be ready for the regular season.
Harbaugh, who repeats this line when asked about any injury, said: "I don't comment because I'm not a doctor. I'm not Mr. Harris' agent either. I'm talking about what I know, and 'Can he open his eye?' 'Yeah.' I've looked into his eye. I can tell you stuff like that."
A picture posted to Harris' Snapchat on August 6th, shows him with his left eye completely shut with the caption "WE AT IT." Harbaugh said Friday, however, that Harris can open his eye.
